FAQ
How To Choose a GaGa Pit
There is no official size for a GaGa Ball Pit, so our adjustable size is designed to fit all ages and group sizes. We recommend buying a large enough pit for your oldest or largest group of kids because you can quickly and easily remove a couple wall panels to shrink it down for younger or fewer players. Remember, a younger player might not have the strength to hit the ball across a 25’ pit, but an athletic 16-year-old might think an 18’ pit is too small to be a challenge. The following chart provides a rough guideline for the number of players of different ages in our regular Mamba GaGa Ball Pits:
For younger players, approximately 4 – 8 years old, we also offer PeeWee GaGa Ball Pits with 2’ high walls and 1’ high door panels:
GaGa Ball Pits are made from a variety of materials and designs and which one is right for you depends on your organization’s needs. Ask yourself these questions:
- Will I need to easily (i.e., 1 person in about 5 minutes) move the Gaga Pit to use in different locations or into storage or can I dedicate space for a more permanent structure?
- Is your Gaga Ball Pit only for good weather or can it be used indoors just as easily when you have a class full of restless kids?
- Do I need to worry about the surface under the Gaga Pit being torn up, muddy, or damaged? Or can I use it on any surface and move it around to let the grass regrow?
- Will the Gaga Pit stand up to the elements over time and lots of use by energetic players?
- Can I see what’s going on in the GaGa Ball Pit – even if I’m not right next to it?
A typical Gaga Ball is an 8.5” rubber inflatable playground ball, which is what we include with our Mamba Gaga Ball Pits. However, younger kids (up to 8 – 11 years old) might prefer a lighter Gaga Ball such as a “Rhino Skin” solid foam ball. Older players (15 years plus) sometimes use a soft cover volleyball which can be hit even faster. We suggest that the ball be between 8” and 12” diameter.
About Mamba Gaga Pits
All Mamba GaGa Ball Pits are designed for outdoor use with powder coated steel tubes, and UV protected wall nets, hinges, and pads to withstand the effects of weather.
We store our pits on carpeted deck panel trucks available through companies such as Uline. This makes it quick and convenient to roll out of storage to wherever the GaGa pit is being set up.
Our philosophy at the outset was to make it easy for one person to easily set up the pits in under 5 minutes, so we engineered our panels to weigh about 25 lbs. each, without sacrificing strength and durability.
Yes! Better than off a solid, static wall. That’s because our heavy-duty netted wall panels are designed with bungee cord attachments to rebound the ball with pitchback or rebounder like speed.
We have replacement and maintenance parts available through our website or call us at 855-626-2242. Regular maintenance is simply to occasionally inspect the panels and re-attach or replace any loose bungee cords. Please visit our How to Videos located at the bottom of the screen for more information.
Yes. By simply pulling up one hinge pin and swinging a door or net panel like a gate creates a 4’ or 6’ opening with nothing on the floor or ground to maneuver over.
